First Holy Communion is a very special occasion in the life of a Catholic child. It is an opportunity for children to grow in their understanding and love of Jesus and to prepare to receive Him for the first time in Holy Communion.

First Holy Communion 2027

The 2027 First Holy Communion preparation programme has now begun. Parents of children taking part have been provided with the dates and details of all the preparation sessions.

The children will celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturday 8th May 2027.

We look forward to accompanying the children and their families throughout this important part of their journey of faith, and we pray that their preparation will help them grow closer to Jesus and to the life of our parish community.

First Holy Communion 2028

Applications for the 2028 First Holy Communion programme are expected to open around June 2027.

Applications will be welcomed from families who would like their child to prepare for First Holy Communion in 2028, including those who were unable to apply or take part in this year’s programme.

Further information and application details will be published on this page when applications open.

We look forward to welcoming new families and sharing this special journey of faith with them.

Catechists

We are looking for parishioners to help with catechesis in our different churches. If you would like to volunteer or continue, please contact Sarah Boagey at fhc.holyfamilyhartlepool@gmail.com, or call her on 07921560989. There will be a meeting for catechists in September each year prior to the programme beginning.
